The tournament on 9/10/10 brought 3 schools Ssaku, Ndejje, and Katikamu to New Hope Academy. Most schools arrived in team buses sporting corporate sponsored uniforms. NHA had to dig out some soccer jerseys.
And lace up soccer shoes.
Our first matchup was against Ssaku. Their team consisted of A-level students and they soundly beat us.
Later we played a close game against Ndejje but they pulled away at the end to win. However, New Hope had a great performance in our final game against Katikamu and we won 38 to 16. Congratulations to our team, they had a great attitude and really played tough. I believe this NHA hosted tournament will spark interest in the sport of basketball, and hopefully inspire some other kids to come out and play.
