A Christ-Centered Education in New Hope Uganda

June 2, 2026 by Alyssa Morrow Leave a Comment

“Nurturing Hearts, Minds, and Hands”

At New Hope Uganda, education is never just books or exams – it is discipleship. Every classroom is a place where children are taught
not only to think critically but also to walk faithfully with Jesus Christ.

We currently serve directly through three schools: Essubi Eppya Vocational Primary School (EEVPS), New Hope Academy, and Kobwin EEVPS.

1. Essubi Eppya Vocational Primary School serves children from preschool through primary seven (grade 6). We also provide special needs education for children with disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, Hydrocephalus, and cerebral palsy.

2. New Hope Academy offers classes from senior one (grade 7) through senior four (grade 10).

New Hope Academy

3. Kobwin EEVPS, is located in Eastern Uganda and also serves students from preschool through primary 7 (grade 6).

Each school has a unique role in discipling the lives of young children and young people; discipling them with the Word of God and the biblically aligned worldview through the BMW clubs, and vocational skills (tailoring, carpentry, agriculture, brick laying, and construction), these prepare them for their future careers, self-sufficiency, and becoming productive citizens.

Together, these schools exemplify our vision: “Bringing the fatherhood of God to the fatherless.” They are places where hope is restored, dignity is affirmed, and destinies are built on the solid foundation of Christ.

Academic Excellence

At EEVPS

We currently serve 318 pupils from preschool through primary seven (grade 6). In the most recent Primary Leaving Examination (P.L.E), 35 sat for the exam. We are proud to share that six achieved first grade, twenty-seven achieved second grade, and only two earned third grade. These results are a testimony to the dedication of our teachers and the perseverance of our pupils.

At NHA

In our secondary school, we currently serve 169 students from senior one (grade 7) through senior four (grade 10). Each classroom is designed to accommodate up to 35 students, ensuring a manageable class size that supports effective teaching and learning. We are glad to share that in the most recent Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), 51 students sat for the exam, and based on the new curriculum, every student passed and qualified to get a certificate. We registered no failures, a testimony to the dedication of our teachers and the perseverance of our students.

These results show that Christ-centered education produces not only spiritual growth but also academic achievement.

Beyond Academics

Our curriculum is not just about passing exams – it is about discipling lives through biblically integrated lessons that emphasize the God of the universe throughout the different disciplines of study and life skills to equip the learners to be productive. In every subject or discipline, we ensure that students see God’s truth in subjects: Mathematics, Science, and Literature among others. Learning does not stop at textbooks. Our students are immersed in a holistic environment where spiritual growth and practical skills are cultivated alongside academic excellence.

  • Daily Devotions and Bible study: Each morning begins with prayer and scripture, grounding students in God’s Word, reminding them that everything starts with God, setting the tone for the day.
  • Biblical Womanhood & Manhood (BMW): Monthly sessions guide boys and girls to embrace their God-given identity and purpose, equipping them to live with integrity and confidence.
  • Spiritual Growth Opportunities: Students participate in Scripture Union fellowships every Wednesday at NHA where guest speakers address topics that shape their faith, character, and leadership.
  • Sports Program: At NHA, we hold sports activities every Friday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. All students are encouraged to take part in these activities, while others take on basketball, netball, and volleyball. Through these activities, many talents and gifts have been discovered, nurtured, and grown.
  • Skills Development: Beyond spiritual formation, students gain hands-on experience in gardening, tailoring, carpentry, and soon we desire to include baking. These programs instill responsibility, creativity, and resilience, preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

This holistic approach ensures that every child is nurtured academically, spiritually, and practically. This leaves our schools not only with knowledge but also faith, character, and skills that empower them to thrive in their communities and honor God in every area of life.

Equipping Teachers, Empowering Students

At new hope Uganda schools, we believe that quality education begins with teachers. A child’s destiny is shaped not only by the lessons they learn but by the mentors who guide them. That’s why we invest in our staff through trainings and workshops because when teachers thrive, the learners also flourish.

Every year, our teachers participate in Envisioning, a powerful time of renewal and alignment led by the ministry’s founder and other seasoned speakers. During these days of Envisioning, staff are reminded of the heart of the Vision: Bringing the fatherhood of God to the fatherless. It is more than professional development – it is spiritual equipping.

In addition, our teachers attend Biblical integration workshops where they learn how to weave God’s truth into every subject. Whether it’s mathematics, science, or literature, each lesson becomes an opportunity to point students back to God.

The impact is undeniable. Classrooms are transformed into places where faith and knowledge walk hand in hand, eventually equipping the head, heart, and hands of the learners. Students are not only mastering academics but are being discipled in character, integrity, and leadership.

We are delighted to let you know that your support makes this possible. Every gift ensures that teachers remain inspired, trained, and equipped to mentor the hundreds of children. When you invest in teachers, you are investing in generations of students who will carry both wisdom and faith, and in turn ensure the fatherhood of God is extended to other orphans in their communities.

Through our faithful partners, empowered by the Lord, we are building destinies, restoring hope, and raising leaders who will impact their families, churches, and communities for generations to come. Thank you for walking faithfully with us in this journey.

New Hope Uganda Families: Hope Restored

Family Children

At New Hope Uganda, our vision is to “bring the fatherhood of God to the fatherless” (Psalm 68:5 6, NIV: “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families…”).

Since the beginning, our ministry has embraced vulnerable children into family groups led by married couples who serve as father and mother figures. This family model provides love, stability, and guidance, helping children grow into responsible, God-fearing citizens. Over the years, more than 3,000 children have been nurtured through New Hope Families, many of whom now serve their communities and nation with integrity.

Family Parents and the Support System

Family Parents: The Heart of New Hope Families

At the center of every New Hope family group is an officially married couple who serve as father and mother figures. These family parents embody the fatherhood of God in daily life—providing love, discipline, guidance, and stability. They create a true home environment where children feel safe, valued, and nurtured. Their presence ensures that each child experiences what it means to belong to a family, not just an institution.

Family Parents guide children in morning and evening devotions, oversee daily routines, and model Christian character. They are role models who help children grow into responsible, God‑fearing citizens. Their commitment is the heartbeat of our ministry.

The Support System Around Family Parents

Raising children is never done alone. At New Hope Uganda, family parents are surrounded by a strong support network that multiplies their impact:

  • Family Associates – step in when parents are on leave or need assistance, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Mentors – provide spiritual and emotional guidance, walking alongside children in their personal growth.
  • Teachers – nurture academic excellence and character development through New Hope’s schools.
  • The Church – church leaders help in discipling children through various church programs, such as youth camps, Sunday School activities, and others.

This holistic support system ensures that children receive consistent love, education, and discipleship. It strengthens family parents and allows them to focus on building strong, Christ‑centered homes.

Evening Devotions

A Day in Families

Life inside New Hope Families is vibrant, purposeful, and deeply rooted in faith. Every day is carefully structured to nurture children spiritually, academically, and emotionally—while equipping them with practical skills for the future.

  • Morning & Evening Devotions – Each day begins and ends with prayer and Scripture. Children gather with their family parents to sing, read the Bible, and pray together. These moments set the tone for their day, reminding them that God loves them.
  • Education & Learning – After morning chores, children head to our schools, located onsite. Teachers not only provide academic instruction but also mentor them in character, discipline, and faith. Our partners make it possible for these children to receive an education that prepares them for a brighter future.
  • Chores & Life Skills – Back at home, children learn responsibility through gardening, cooking, and household tasks. They take pride in eating food they have grown themselves, building resilience and self-confidence. These skills ensure they can thrive as independent adults when they leave New Hope.
  • Church & Community – Weekends and evenings are filled with youth programs, choir practice, and fellowship. Many children discover their gifts in music, worship, and leadership. It is inspiring to watch them grow into ministers and community leaders, carrying the fatherhood of God into the wider world.
  • Leisure & Joy – Families also celebrate life together. Movie nights, games, and music bring laughter and joy. Even leisure activities are carefully chosen to strengthen spiritual growth and build lasting memories of belonging.

This rhythm of faith, learning, responsibility, and joy transforms children from vulnerable beginnings into strong, capable adults. It is a joy to see them grow into leaders, ministers, and responsible citizens.

Gardening Time

Opening Doors of Hope: Reviving Families

Currently, our family groups across Kasana and Kobwin are alive with laughter, prayer, and learning—caring for 88 children who are thriving in the embrace of love and faith. Yet, a number stand closed, not because the need has disappeared, but because financial resources have been tight. Behind those closed doors are vulnerable children still waiting for a place to belong and be cared for. They wait for a father’s guidance, a mother’s embrace, and the daily rhythm of family life that restores dignity and hope.

With your partnership, these homes can reopen. Your generosity will not only sustain the families already in operation but will also unlock new doors of refuge for dozens more children. Every gift you give is more than financial support—it is a key that opens the door to safety, education, spiritual growth, and the joy of belonging. Together, we can extend the fatherhood of God to the fatherless, ensuring that no child is left outside looking in. When you give, you are helping us turn closed houses into living homes filled with prayer, laughter, and the promise of a brighter future.

Every Gift Opens the Door to Hope

Every gift you give is more than financial support—it is a lifeline. It rescues children from despair, restores them to family, and rebuilds destinies filled with promise.

Today, we celebrate the families still in operation across Kasana and Kobwin. Because of faithful partners like you, they remain places of prayer, laughter, learning, and love. For decades, they have stood as living testimonies of God’s fatherhood, raising children who grow into responsible, God-fearing citizens. We honor and appreciate the generosity that has sustained them all these years
