New Hope Academy

Motto: Leading by Serving

Vision: For our students to become men and women who know God and out of that knowledge live righteous lives, love God and serve Him.

Mission: Making God known to our students through education and equipping them for life.

A Unique School

New Hope Academy (NHA) does more than impart intellectual knowledge. Our uniqueness is that we teach each subject from a Biblical worldview. This enables our students to live their lives on a firm foundation of godly principles and values and to develop enduring qualities of spiritual wisdom and compassionate leadership.

Setting

Set in 56 acres of attractive and landscaped grounds. New Hope Academy is a modern, purpose-built school providing high quality Biblically-based education up to ‘O’ level standard.

Our team of well-qualified dedicated staff and our excellent facilities ensures that our students receive the best possible teaching and support to help them to develop their true potential.

Subjects offered

English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Education, Agriculture, and Christian Religious Education.

Facilities and Resources

NHA has a well-equipped science laboratory, library and a cafeteria where students receive  a break-time snack and a nourishing lunch. A nurse visits daily to provide medical care and advice.

While the class sizes of 25-40 are much smaller than most similar schools in Uganda, we have set a goal as resources allow to cap classes at 25 to give each individual student more attention.\

Extra-curricular

Our football (soccer), netball (sport somewhat similar to basketball for girls), and basketball teams play to a high standard and compete in local leagues.

New Hope Academy Sponsorship Opportunity

New Hope is committed to providing quality Christian education at a personal level to its students and to retaining excellent staff.

Sponsorship is able to cover all school costs for our primary students but once a student reaches secondary school the costs increase. Even though NHA keeps its class sizes at 40 or below (much lower than most other Ugandan schools), we desire to keep classes at 25 or below in order to provide a high level of personal attention to each student. In addition, we are currently paying our teachers less than what they could make elsewhere.

In light of these two factors, New Hope Uganda has set one of its top three priorities for 2010 as finding “Second sponsors” for each of its children who have graduated from primary school (those in NHA and beyond). Second sponsors may be relational, where the child and sponsor write letters to each other, or non-relational, where the student updates are sent but no letter writing is involved.
