Enterprise Farm

Our Purpose

Enterprise Farm’s purpose is to alleviate the overhead costs of New Hope’s growing childcare ministry, and therefore illustrate self-sufficiency to our children and the community.

Our Vision and Strategy

Enterprise is a poly-culture farm that is currently growing 50+ acres of maize, cassava, and sweet potatoes, as well as an expanding vegetable garden. We also have fish ponds, a piggery, and 5 pair of oxen that are all used in generating income that will help to lessen the dependence for western support. Enterprise’s vision is excellence in all their agricultural endeavors, by providing high quality outputs to the people of New Hope and the surrounding community in the forms of vegetables, grain, meat, and other agriculture products. Our goal is to use, whenever possible, methods that are sustainable and replicable in the community. In summary, the vision of Enterprise is to benefit New Hope and its surrounding community by offering quality products and modeling productive farming

Our Staff

Enterprise farm is managed by Shawn Zimmerman and Gitta Frank. We currently employ around 26 people from the community. A majority of the farm workers spend their days in the 40+ acres fields, while the others take care of the vegetable gardens, fish ponds, or piggery.
