Kobwin School Report

The school at Kobwin Children’s Centre recently entered its seventh year of operation when the new school year began on February 22nd. Here is the report sent from Augustine Tukei, the Head of Childcare Extension at Kobwin:

“We thank and appreciate God so much once again this year here at Kobwin for His great work. May He alone receive the glory and the honor. We are also excited to say thank you so much to the ministry and specific individuals (sponsors) for allowing God to use them for this great work that the Lord is doing here at Kobwin.

This year God has expanded our primary school under sponsorship by 20 new children. Also, we have been able to recruit two new teachers.

Though our family is expanding we still have the challenge of classrooms.

Right now three of our classes attend their lessons in temporary places (one outside and the other two in the family group buildings). We hope God will come to our rescue for us to effectively deliver our services.”

Last year, the District Education Office visited the Kobwin school and urged the need for proper facilities. Money has been donated for at least three new classrooms, and the Kobwin staff hope that construction will begin soon.

Currently, the staff at Kobwin are offering seven classes on site: Primary 1-4 and Primary 6 (Kindergarten through 3rd grade and 5th grade), preschool for some staff children, and a vocational tailoring class for six young ladies. There are also 17 sons and daughters in Senior 1-4 (7th-10th grade) who are driven to a school in a neighboring town each day.

All 20 of the new sons and daughters are from the area around the Kobwin Children’s Centre, and they will continue living with their biological relatives. Kobwin was initially opened for children from the Amuria district, several hours’ drive away. There are still 17 of these sons and daughters who are in primary or senior school, others are away at courses. Eight have completed their education and are now able to work for themselves!

Please join the Kobwin staff in praising God for His continued provision and favor. Please also pray for the new students, that God would work in their hearts to receive His Fatherhood through the teachers and others.
